Surgery Day

Today Heidi had tubes put in her ears. She was a great patient until the nurse took her away for the operation - then she was not as good. We've been home for only a few hours and she's already back to normal. I am shocked at how easy that was. Whew!

Here we are, at 6:15 this morning, heading out the door.

Heidi is not sure she loves her tiger gown. She liked her purse pants better.

They're doing WHAT to my ears?

Fair Weather Friends

We love the fair. As much as I hate to say this, we love even more when it is not 109 degrees like it was when we went this week. Luckily, we still had lots of fun.

Heidi loved the cows.

Molly really liked the goats.

Emily liked the fake butterflies. Emily is not as outdoorsy as her sisters.

Totally Tubular

Heidi is going to be an ENT when she grows up. I know this because already, in only eight months, she has become an expert in ear infections. She knows what they feel like, how to tell me all about the pain associated with them and which TV shows are on in the middle of the night if she feels like waking up and telling me some more about the ear pain. She is a huge Conan fan. She also knows which medicines work best (or not at all) and best of all, she knows how to get doctors to call in favors to get on the surgery list for tubes in under a week. We can't wait for next Friday's surgery!

Go Cats, Go!

We went to the Rivercats game last night. Honestly, I don't know if the girls even realized there was a game going on. If you ask them what happens at a game they would tell you this - first you eat cotton candy, then you get wiped with a lot of wipes, then you roll down the hill for an hour and then you go home. It was a successful evening.

Even Heidi tried the cotton candy. In this photo she is triying to figure out how to get more.

Ready for Harry Potter

Molly LOVES books. She loves books so much that she stays up late at night looking at them. (Maybe she is really reading and we just didn't realize it.) Sometimes she has a hard time deciding which books she wants with her in bed so she sneaks out and gets more. A few nights ago when I went in to check on her I realized she had 28 BOOKS in her bed! Is she too young for her own library card?

Too Much Fun

Yesterday we played around with the photo booth feature on our Mac. It looks like we're having too much fun around here.

Emily and Molly especially like this photo. They think Heidi looks like a super hero.

Check this out too. It cracks me up. I am very easily amused.

Happy 1st Day of School!

Today was Emily's first day of the big kid class at Miss Cathy's preschool. She was very excited and chose an outfit to match her favorite sandals. Luckily those sandals matched clothes that were actually coordinated. Molly was also excited about today. I didn't realize this, but because she's been Emily's sidekick all summer she just assumed she'd get to go to school today too. Now Molly is looking forward to turning three so she can also be a school girl.

As you can see from this somewhat scary picture of all three girls, Heidi was just a little distressed too, not because Emily was going to school, but because her legs were touching the grass! Poor Heidi. She may not get over that anytime soon. That feeling still gives me the creeps.

Family Home Nap

We wanted to take the girls for a delicious (and free, of course) dinner of Panda Express and Big Spoon frozen yogurt. They were just a tad sleepy though. So Scott and I ate Chinese food in the car and pretended we were on a date while the girls slept in the back. They also slept through the yogurt. Don't worry though. We let them eat their dinner and dessert in the bathtub when we got home. This way we didn't have to do any dishes.

Here are some action shots of the Panda Express parking lot. Can you see Heidi in the mirror?

growing like weeds

Actual conversation:

Molly, what are you doing?
I'm coloring.
Are you coloring ONLY on the paper?
Yes, of course!

Emily wanted "hair dryer hair" for church on Sunday. If she's not careful someone's going to stick her in kindergarten early. She looks so grown up all of a sudden!

Heidi is just too cute for her own good.
